Background & Training

A practical, science-informed foundation — shaped by real-life experience

My work is grounded in a combination of formal training, ongoing education, and hands-on experience supporting autistic children and their families.

Over the years, I have completed extensive autism-relevant training through accredited U.S. universities, alongside in-person parent training and practical application, with a strong focus on understanding autism through a biological, functional, and whole-child lens.

My approach is not based on a single method or ideology.

It is shaped by learning how biology, environment, nutrition, and nervous system regulation interact — and how these factors can support conventional care and evidence-based therapies when used responsibly.

Practical Parent Training

In addition to academic training, I completed one-on-one parent training at the SNAP Centre (Special Needs Adapted Program) in Cape Town, South Africa.

This intensive training focused on:

  • understanding daily challenges faced by autistic children and families

  • practical, compassionate support strategies

  • real-world application beyond theory

This experience deeply shaped my belief that knowledge must be usable, humane, and adaptable — not overwhelming or prescriptive.

Formal Education & Certificates

I hold five autism-relevant health and science certificates from accredited U.S. universities, completed through structured academic programs:

  • Emory University
    Biohacking Your Brain’s Health
Focus: brain health, neurobiology, inflammation, and resilience

  • Stanford University
    Introduction to Food & Health
Focus: nutrition, metabolic health, and dietary foundations

  • University of California, Davis
    Autism Spectrum Disorder
Focus: autism characteristics, learning differences, and educational support

  • University of Colorado Boulder
    Gut Check: Exploring Your Microbiome
Focus: gut health, digestion, immune interaction, and systemic health

  • University of Colorado Boulder
The Little Stuff: Energy, Cells & Genetics
Focus: cellular metabolism, epigenetics, and biological stress pathways

These programs form the scientific backbone of the guide series and my educational work.

How This Shapes My Work

My background allows me to:

  • translate complex science into parent-friendly guidance

  • respect the role of medical professionals and licensed therapists

  • support families in understanding health factors that may influence behavior, learning, and regulation

  • complement — not replace — conventional autism care and approved therapies

I do not diagnose, treat, or replace medical professionals.
Instead, I focus on education, awareness, and informed support, helping parents better understand the biological context in which their child develops.

A Grounded, Respectful Approach

Every child is unique.
Every family’s journey is different.

My goal is not to promise outcomes — but to offer clarity, structure, and informed guidance, so parents feel less lost and more confident navigating the path ahead.
